Breanna Hickey is 19 years old. After graduating from Trinity Catholic College in 2017 she started a Bachelor of Teaching & Bachelor of Exercise Science, completing one semester before deferring her studies to a later date. Since then she has worked at the Greengrocers Cafe, helped out as a roustabout and worked as a stable hand, grooming and riding horses, at Sanden Equestrians, a horse training facility. Breanna is currently employed with race horse trainer, Allan McRae, in Yass.
Included in Breanna's interests and hobbies are working on the family farm, horse riding and camping. She enjoys soccer, league tag, touch football and has volunteered at the Mountain Trails Adventure School. She has enjoyed showing sheep and horses at Dubbo, Canberra, Sydney and many other shows. In previous years with her school, she has helped with setting up the Goulburn Show and was also a member of our under 18 years Young Farmers Challenge Team that won at the Canberra Royal Show in 2016.
Breanna's ambition is to commence her jockey apprenticeship, with the aim of riding in the Melbourne Cup and overseas one day. Then as a mature aged student, she would like to recommence her studies in Personal Development Health & Physical Education Teaching.
Breanna entered the 2019 Goulburn Showgirl competition to give back to the Show Society as she has a great understanding of what agricultural shows mean to the community and the importance of the land and farming. Her travels to many small and large shows has helped her to understand and appreciate the impact and contribution that our farmers have on our community.
