Claire is 22 years old. She grew up in Cowra before moving to Goulburn in 2014. She attended and graduated from Trinity Catholic College in 2017. After finishing school, Claire went onto to study administration and animal care, while also working on the family farm and in the retail industry. In 2020 she started an administration role at Fertspread Gunning. While working there Claire started a Certificate 3 in Agriculture at Goulburn Tafe and will graduate in December 2021. She is planning to continue this study in 2022 by doing the Certificate 4 in Agriculture. This year Claire was fortunate to be the recipient of the NSW Farmers Agriculture and Wool Classing Scholarship through Tafe NSW. Due to COVID-19, her career has changed to working in sales and supporting her family on the farm.
Claire has many hobbies and interests. She has been actively involved in dance from a very young age which has led her to perform and teach in Goulburn and Canberra. She enjoys being surrounded by animals and working on the family farm. She has also developed a passion for restoring and working on cars.
As well as dance, Claire's community involvement has included playing and being part of the MBK Soccer Club in Gunning and Goulburn, being a member of the Trinity Catholic College Show Cattle Team, participating in many ANZAC parades with the school. This year she took an active part in the Goulburn Show to see what it is all about.
Claire's ultimate goal is to work in marine and agricultural conservation and be an ambassador for the agricultural industry within the marine biology field. She would one day like to run her own cattle property and create a safe haven for rescued animals.
Claire entered the 2022 Goulburn Showgirl Competition to help guide her in the role of being an ambassador for the agricultural community with this being her first step towards reaching her goal. She would like to have the opportunity to be an ambassador for young people in the agricultural industry.
